So we’ve covered what cannabinoids you can find in Cannabis and how they affect you in different ways.  CBD is the more healing cannabinoid and thus more and more companies are using it in their edibles, cremes, tinctures and salves to name a few.  So why the sudden interest in CBD?  On June 25th, 2018 the FDA approved the first prescription drug made from Cannabis.  The Food and Drug Administration approved the medication, called Epidiolex, to treat two rare forms of epilepsy that begin in childhood. But it’s not quite medical marijuana.  The strawberry-flavored syrup is a purified form of a chemical ingredient found in the cannabis plant — but not the one that gets users high.

The chemical ingredient?  CBD!  This is a huge milestone that could spur more research into a drug that remains illegal under federal law, despite growing legalization for recreational and medical use.  It seems to me at some point the FDA is going to have to reschedule Cannabis or at the very least grant Epidiolex a waiver so it can be legally sold in the U.S.

As you can see to the right, we carry many products with CBD in them.  Edibles like the Incredibles Black Cherry 200mg CBD chocolate bar is one way to achieve long pasting  pain relief as edibles usually last over two or three hours minimum. The bar comes pre scored at 20mg doses per piece. It’s a great way to medicate without smoking.  We also carry Stratos, capsules that contain various levels of CBD and THC. With these, you can medicate discreetly and have a choice of CBD strengths such as 2:1 or even 15:1 CBD:THC.  Whatever your preference, we can help you choose what’s best for you condition.  Next time we’ll cover the concentrates and flower one can find with high CBD ratios.
